If you’re looking for a fast and filling feed in Footscray and Braybrook, look no further than MiPasto Pizza and Burgertory.
The businesses were started by Hash Tayeh and Shantosh Lamichhane, with MiPasto Footscray opening in 2017, MiPasto Braybrook in 2019 and Burgertory Braybrook and Footscray also in 2019.
They noticed a lack of good fast food options to feed the students, commuters, families and night revellers pouring in and out of Footscray train station and recognised an opportunity to build a high quality fast food brand in the west.
Within two years, they’ve opened eight stores (including the stores in Footscray and Braybrook), with more stores in the pipeline.
MiPasto serves American-style traditional pizzas by the slice as well as signature gourmet pizzas (the salami is top-notch), while Burgetory is famous for its fully stacked burgers.
All the ingredients are sourced locally, including the halal meat and bread delivered daily by Baked for Sofia.
“My favourite pizza is the tandoori chicken. We’ve taken a lot of effort to get the taste just right” says Shantosh. “As for the burgers (which are named after the Seven Deadly Sins and the Eight Archangels) my go-to is the Abraham burger and chips. Our secret chip seasoning is sensational!”
Hash and Shantosh have plans to turn MiPasto and Burgertory into the biggest fast food franchise in Australia – an amazing journey for two local brands that first started right here in Melbourrne’s west.
